Apply Online: School District Frontline PortalJob Title: Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction (6th-12th grade)Contract Days: 240Qualifications of Employment:Arkansas Teaching license with K-12 Building Administrator CredentialAdministrative experience at the building levelPreferred: Curriculum Program Administrator Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the 6th-12th grade curriculum and instruction. The Director plans develops and coordinates professional development to support District 6th-12th curriculum implementation and instruction. The Director shall have the ability to coordinate and supervise the work of others and the ability to recognize the school systems needs with respect to curriculum instruction and leadership for the development and implementation of HQIM curriculum (6th-12th grades)Lead and coordinate efforts with the TOSAs (Teachers on Special Assignment) to vertically and horizontally align curriculum instruction and assessmentSupervise and evaluate the 6th-12th principalsSupervise the ELL supervisor and work in partnership with supervisor for the ELL district programCollaborate with the Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction to ensure a seamless curriculum and instruction program from Pre-K through 12th and monitor the multi-tiered system of support for Tiers 1 2 and and analyze the effectiveness of secondary instructional programsWork with the GT coordinator to implement the secondary GT programCoordinate the HQIM adoption process and the selection of appropriate supplemental materials for use in the district classroomsWork in partnership with Special Services and Technology to ensure quality instruction for ALL studentsWork with building leaders to create and implement school improvement plansDisaggregate analyze and share student achievement data from state and local assessments to improve instructionWork in partnership with building-level administrators to ensure a quality academic coaching modelIn partnership with principals oversee the implementation and institutionalization of formative assessmentsDevelop and coordinate the implementation of the RSD Professional Development Plan for 6th-12th teachers and building level administratorsProvide professional development as needed to teachers and administratorsConduct and analyze secondary professional development needs assessmentConsult on employment of secondary teaching staff (evaluate enrollment to determine staffing needs) Prepare statistical and descriptive reports related to curriculum instruction and assessmentProvide information to the RSD School Board as directed by the Superintendent Lead secondary principal meetingsDevelop budget for secondary instruction and the professional development of 6th-12th teachers administrators and other staff membersMonitor and approve District expenditures related to secondary curriculum and instructionRespond to 6th-12th parent concernsMonitor and approve District expenditures related to elementary professional developmentMonitor and approve District expenditures for District elementary art music and physical education best practices and programsRemain current on DESE rules and regulationsOther duties as assigned
