Position Summary: The College and Career Advisor (CCA) plays a vital role in ensuring that all students are equipped with the knowledge experiences and support they need to successfullynavigate their postsecondary journey. Working as part of the Postsecondary Readiness teamCCAs provide direct advising services to students in grades 912 helping them build and refine
their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) understand graduation and collegeadmission requirements explore career pathways and access postsecondary opportunitiesincluding Advanced Placement dual and concurrent enrollment internships and career collaborate closely with school counselors teachers and families as well as communityindustry and higher education partners to expand students exposure to college and careeroptions. This role combines one-on-one advising small group sessions and large-scaleprogramming to increase student access engagement and readiness for life after high College and Career Advisors help students connect their goals and passions to aconcrete plan for their future.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in education or a related field
Experience:
Two (2) years experience in effective K-12 classroom teaching advising or counselingpreferred
Specialized Knowledge Licenses Etc.:
Possess or ability to obtain and maintain Oklahoma teaching certification in secondaryeducation or counseling
Deep knowledge and understanding of college and career-ready requirementsincluding graduation requirements college admissions criteria as well as workforceneeds and requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
