Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time position to work in the Family Resource Center 40 hours per week 12-month position with benefits grant funded by First Things First.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: AA or higher in social services education family studies early-childhood development business or related field. Experience in social services early childhood development education management or a related field is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to make presentations to groups professionally bilingual preferred. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Google Workspace apps and all social media platforms. Experience in creating data reports and collecting and entering large amounts of information into spreadsheets. Possesses and demonstrates a high level of confidentiality and is detail-oriented.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide excellent internal and external customer service while performing all related duties to include public speaking.

  2. Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills to plan and market upcoming programs and activities in the resource center and the community.
  3. Create and foster professional relationships with school staff families community members city employees and businesses.

  4. Become familiar with the Family Resource Centers mission values and goals (FRC) First Things First (FTF) and Buckeye Elementary School District.

  5. Be fully informed of FRC programs services and community resources and be able to disseminate this information accurately with community members during meetings and on social media platforms.

  6. Assist the coordinator with management responsibilities and participate as a team member to carry out the BFRCs programs and services being flexible and willing to cover other positions as needed.
  7. Collect data and enter it into spreadsheets to create quarterly reports.
  8. Create and enter purchase requests and keep track of purchases and the purchasing budget.

  9. Coordinate and delegate activities with staff interns and volunteers to ensure smooth operations within the FRC and out in the community.

  10. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality treat individuals with dignity and respect and demonstrate the ability to work calmly and professionally.

  11. Must have high proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.

  12. Knowledgeable of community resources and public programs including WIC preschool and Head Start programs available in the community as well as local childcare.

  13. Assist in all aspects of significant community events such as distributing school supplies holiday assistance programs and a free health clinic as well as community events taking place on weekends.

  14. Participate in continued education to provide the highest level of service in all areas including training and certifications giving child car seat education and installation.

  15. Assist in outreach participate in school district activities community events and meetings and resource fairs and establish relationships with the business community.

  16. Work on Wednesday evenings one Saturday a month and weekends (pending events).

  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience in office management assisting administrators and the public working with children and families. Collaborating with other agencies. Communicating and presenting to small and large groups professionally. Creating newsletters calendars flyers and marketing material. Developing and delivering PowerPoint and Google Slides presentations coordinating schedules on Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendars/Gmail and navigating the web for research and social media.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand walk sit use hands fingers and arms climb stairs balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk and hear. Must be able to sit for extended periods stand walk operate computer equipment give verbal instructions regarding directions procedures and perform duties in a professional environment. The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds while handling office equipment supplies and incoming mail. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing these duties the employee could be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time including temperature changes and heat over 100 degrees.
