About the Role:
The Assistant Manager Chennai Branch will assist the Branch Manager in handling the daily B2B operations of the Branch through the dealer network engaging in sales and distribution of porcelain tableware ensuring excellent customer service and achieving sales goals. This role involves maintaining showroom standards at the Branch and creating a positive experience for dealers. It also entails supporting the expansion of the dealer network leading to growth in revenue by consistently acquiring new business. Responsibilities will also extend to inventory management leading and motivating the sales team and driving strategies to achieve business goals set by the Company for the Chennai Branch.
The Person:
A Sri Lankan below the age of 45 years with extensive experience in managing dealerships and distributor networks preferably in the homeware industry. Should be high on common sense tact and collaboration to be able to gain the trust of the Country Manager who is Sri Lankan and the rest of the staff who are Indian and gel with the team. Preferred age below 45 years.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Service
- Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Support the sales team in providing exceptional customer service.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance identifying areas for improvement.
- Address dealer inquiries complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Ensure the Branch is adequately staffed to meet dealer needs.
Team Management
- Support the recruitment training and mentoring process for the sales team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop and maintain a positive environment that promotes high performance and teamwork.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development opportunities for the sales team.
Branch Operations
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and presentation of the Branch.
- Oversee inventory management including ordering receiving and stocking products.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including safety and security protocols.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in inventory and financial transactions.
- Assist in managing Branch expenses and budget ensuring cost-effective operations.
Marketing and Promotions
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute in-store promotions and events.
- Analyze market trends and customer preferences to recommend product assortments and promotions.
- Utilize social media and other digital platforms to promote products and events.
Risk & Compliance
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager in complying with legal safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist in identifying operational risks and implementing appropriate mitigation action.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and submit regular sales and operational reports to the senior management.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business administration marketing retail management or a related field.
- Professional qualification in marketing.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities in English/Tamil and or Hindi.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales management with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing sales teams.
