Job Duties
The Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) is seeking a highly-motivated and detailed-oriented individual to serve as Compliance Analyst within the Department of Judicial Services Specialty Dockets Division. This Division acts as the liaison between the judiciarys administrative office and Virginias state courts by providing programmatic support through education publications technical assistance and the research development and implementation of specialty docket programs.
As a member of the Specialty Dockets team the Compliance Analyst supports Virginias recovery courts and specialty dockets by ensuring alignment with state and national best practice standards and compliance frameworks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Compliance Analyst will report to the Division Manager and will be responsible for:
Monitoring and evaluating program adherence to the Virginia Specialty Dockets Standards and the Adult Drug Treatment Court National Best Practice Standards
Coordinating and conducting compliance visits; preparing announcements summaries and follow-up documentation
Preparing reviewing and facilitating compliance reports and recommending corrective action as needed
Providing technical assistance and educational support to local court programs on best practices
Assisting with the planning and implementation of the annual statewide Specialty Dockets Training event
Maintaining detailed records related to program compliance evaluation findings and best practice guidance
Collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders and acting as a subject matter expert on compliance issues
Supporting the Division in editing and updating procedural documents related to specialty dockets
Facilitating virtual and in-person trainings conference calls and meetings related to compliance topics
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in criminal justice human services public administration legal studies or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Demonstrated knowledge of the Virginia Specialty Dockets Standards and the Adult Drug Treatment Court National Best Practice Standards or direct experience in conducting compliance reviews or program audits
Strong organizational and administrative skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly present findings and recommendations
Experience presenting information and reports to diverse multidisciplinary audiences
Ability to prioritize tasks manage time effectively and work independently in a virtual or hybrid environment
High attention to detail and ability to analyze program operations and offer practical solutions
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with court personnel the judiciary legislators and members of the public
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Virginias judicial branch or within a specialty docket or recovery court program
Knowledge of court operations grant compliance or criminal justice program administration
Familiarity with state and federal program regulations evaluation models or accreditation processes
Experience in developing or delivering compliance training
Ability to work collaboratively with judicial and behavioral health partners to implement programmatic changes
Experience in compiling analyzing and presenting program data and outcome reports
Additional Considerations
Considerable statewide travel is required; mileage reimbursement and per diem provided in accordance with state travel policies

This position is based in Richmond Virginia. Remote work may be considered based on qualifications job responsibilities and organizational needs. Approval of any remote or hybrid schedule is at the discretion of the Office of the Executive Secretary.
