Title: 21st Century Summer Program Coordinator
Description: HYW 21st Century Summer Program - Site Coordinator Summer 2025
Program Goal: To coordinate and manage the daily operations of the 21st Century Summer Program at HYW.
Job Description: The Summer Program Coordinator will:
- Follow grant guidelines/goals & objectives as submitted to DESE
- Plan and Develop Curriculum for literacy block
- Review Literacy Data & Develop Instructional Groups
- Organize Grade Level Resources for Instruction and Intervention (lexia heggerty lively letters reach etc)
- Coordinate staff and community partners in planning and scheduling enrichment and project based service learning activities that align with academic program goals
- Support staff with Skill Based Targeted Instruction/Intervention and PBL Curriculum/Instruction
- Review PBL Lesson Plans
- Schedule bus transportation for morning and afternoon bus routes
- Recruit enroll & provide program orientation to students & families
- Maintain and submit student enrollment and attendance records to program coordinator
- Collect and Submit data for student outcome measures (SAYOs)
- Collaborate with Transportation & Food Service as needed
- Provide Orientation Coaching & PD for Staff.
- Develop a daily staff schedule that includes lunch recess & break
- Supervise & manage staff
- Maintain communication with staff and administrators
- Procure resources and supplies for staff and students
- Assist program coordinator in gathering data to be reported to DESE
- Develop grant application and program evaluation responses
- Document discipline concerns and injury accidents
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress discipline attendance injury accidents etc.
- Assist in other duties as needed
- Ensure Student Confidentiality
Program Duration & Anticipated Schedule
- June 30th-July 31st - Mon-Thurs 8:00-3:30
- 55 hours of Program Preparation
- 10 hours of Program Wrap Up
- Total Hours 215
Qualifications
- Appropriate certification and/or educational background
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (ELA & Math)
- Knowledge of and experience with literacy instruction/intervention and project-based learning
- Certification in CPR & First Aid preferred.
