Job Summary
The Teacher Apprentice role is designed for individuals pursuing a career in education who are actively enrolled in a teacher preparation program. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while working under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role supports the development of teaching skills classroom management strategies and professional growth in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist certified teachers with lesson planning instruction and classroom management.
- Provide support to students individually or in small groups to enhance learning outcomes.
- Lead classroom activities under the guidance and supervision of the mentor teacher.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student progress and classroom activities.
- Actively engage in reflective practices to improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.
- Adhere to school policies procedures and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Must hold a valid Substitute Teacher License (required).
- Actively enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program.
- Progress Requirements:
- Demonstrate consistent progress in the teacher preparation program by providing evidence of passing scores each semester.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students teachers and administrators.
- Willingness to learn and implement new teaching methods.
- Organized dependable and committed to professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with classroom technologies and educational tools.
