Job Description

Development Associate - Philanthropy

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation (RAHF) is looking for a highly organized detail-driven individual to take on the important role of Development Associate a key player in keeping our fundraising engine running smoothly.

Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy & Stakeholder Relations the Development Associate provides vital support to our development team by managing the systems schedules and data that power donor engagement. From maintaining our donor database to generating insightful reports tracking solicitations and supporting stewardship and research efforts. This role ensures that every touchpoint with our supporters is meaningful and effective. Key Accountabilities:

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support including drafting and filing detailed contact reports to document donor interactions and key outcomes.
  • Efficiently manage appointment scheduling and calendar coordination for Development Officers to optimize their time and outreach efforts.
  • Process payment requisitions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless coordination of activities related to all support areas.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and presentations for donor meetings and cultivation events related to these initiatives.

Database Management & Reporting

  • Generate and analyze database metric reports to track fundraising progress identify trends and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Accurately record and track gift solicitations in the database ensuring proper coding and documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain meticulous tracking of donor interactions and engagement activities within the database to ensure effective relationship management.

Donor Engagement & Cultivation

  • Conduct prospect research to identify donors aligned with the Foundations priorities and giving capacity.
  • Develop and implement personalized stewardship plans to cultivate and retain existing donors fostering long-term relationships.
  • Support signature events donor engagement activities and solicitation efforts.
  • Provide dedicated support for donor activity and solicitation surrounding all Foundation priorities and initiatives.

Required Knowledge Experience & Competencies:

  • 2 years experienceworking in an administrative professional-type role.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills managing multiple schedules and tasks prioritize effectively and maintain meticulous records.
  • Excellent communication skills can clearly and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in data entry report generation and maintaining data integrity within a CRM system.
  • Accuracy in processing information tracking data and preparing documentation is crucial.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost care and respect always maintaining privacy and trust.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Assets:

  • Background in fund development with an understanding of related strategies and donor motivations.
  • Basic knowledge of donor cultivation solicitation and stewardship practices.
  • Familiarity with identifying potential donors and gathering relevant information.
  • Experience with the Raisers Edge CRM system.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word Excel Teams OneNote).
