Job Summary:
Transportation Officers at ONEH2 are responsible for the Safe and Efficient Transportation of Hydrogen Equipment Parts and any other necessary Operations.
Responsibilities:
- 24/7 Logistics and Transportation Responsibilities.
- Ensure Trucks and Trailers are in Safe Working Order.
- Ensure Trucks and Trailers are Available Dependable and Reliable.
- Ensure BOLs are Accurate and Up to Date Daily.
- Ensure Geotab and all Transportation Operating Systems are Accurate and Up to Date.
- Communicate and Assist Drivers and Operations.
- Follow Standard Work as Developed and Needed.
- Hourly Process Walks to Verify Standard Work is being followed.
- Manage and be Familiar with all Mobile Assets.
- Keep all Equipment Registrations & Inspections Up to Date.
- Manage and Track Transportation Credentials.
- Manage and Track Trailer Inventory.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) (49 CFR
Parts 100-185) for hydrogen. - Oversee the packaging labeling placarding and documentation for hydrogen
transportation. - Inspect vehicles and containers used for transporting hydrogen (liquid or gas) to verify
safety standards. - Work with logistics teams to ensure proper routing and handling procedures for hydrogen
shipments. - 17. Conduct risk assessments for hydrogen handling and transport.
- Investigate accidents spills or leaks involving hydrogen and write reports.
- Ensure the use of safety equipment and proper emergency response protocols.
- Provide training to staff on hydrogen safety DOT regulations and emergency
procedures. - Review and inspect hydrogen storage and dispensing facilities for DOT and OSHA
compliance. - Ensure compliance with pipeline safety regulations (if applicable) especially for
hydrogen blending or dedicated hydrogen pipelines. - Monitor facility operations involving hydrogen for proper use of pressure vessels valves
and control systems. - Maintain accurate records of hydrogen shipments incident reports and inspections.
- Prepare and submit required reports to DOT or other regulatory agencies.
- Track changes in federal and state regulations regarding hydrogen and update internal
policies. - Conduct internal training and audits to ensure compliance and readiness.
- Participate in hydrogen safety and regulatory conferences workshops and working
groups. - Manage DOT / FMCSA Audits and Inspections. Ensure Driver Compliance.
- Ensure proper KPA and DOT Training Programs are completed.
- Manage Incident Response Activity for OTR Emergencies / Situations.
- Upgrade / Change Equipment / Processes for Continuous Improvement.
- Communicate Daily with Logistics Manager / Operations Manager.
- Any other tasks as deemed necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Background in hazardous materials transportation safety chemical engineering or
environmental health. - Certification in HazMat Transportation or DOT Compliance.
- Familiarity with NFPA 2 (Hydrogen Technologies Code) and CGA (Compressed Gas
Association) guidelines. - Ensure compliance with U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) (49 CFR
Parts 100-185) for hydrogen.
