Position OverviewThe Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a recognized expert in clinical practice who plays a key leadership role across patient care education research and system improvement. This advanced practice nurse contributes to excellence in patient outcomes by providing expert consultation driving quality initiatives and mentoring nursing staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a clinical expert within a specialty area.
Lead practice improvement initiatives and support evidence-based care delivery.
Provide direct and indirect care acting as a mentor and consultant to interdisciplinary teams.
Support staff education and competency development.
Collaborate with leadership to influence systems-level change in patient care delivery.
Masters DNP or Ph.D. from a Clinical Nurse Specialist program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
(Consideration given to applicants enrolled in a CNS program or with equivalent academic credentials in Nursing Education or Administration.)
Current Washington State RN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Minimum 3 years of RN experience in the specialty area.
Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Certification in specialty area of practice.
At least 2 years of clinical leadership experience.
