The DoIMs Office ofEducational Affairs is seeking an experienced and highly motivated SeniorClerkship Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Senior ClerkshipCoordinator will play a pivotal role in overseeing continuing medical educationactivities and fellowship program within the department. This individual willcollaborate closely with faculty staff and external partners to ensure thedelivery of high-quality educational programs and support the professionaldevelopment of residents & fellows.
Typical Duties
-Provide support for the administration of the M3 Internal Medicine Clerkship and M4 Medicine acting Internships.
-Provides support for the administration of the M4 Student Advising and Residency Application for students considering and /or planning to pursue Internal Medicine training.
-Coordinate scheduling logistics and promotion of events including conferences workshops and seminars
Fellowship Support
-Support the administration and coordination of fellowship programs within the department
-Serve as primary support for the clerkship and directors for matters related to rotations and may function as a representative to the clerkship if requested.
-Coordinate educational activities rotations and evaluations for fellows in collaboration with program directors and faculty mentors
-Ensure compliance with accreditation standards program requirements and institutional policies for Educational Affairs programs
Facilitate EducationalResources and Support
-Develop and maintain educational resources including online platforms learning modules and educational materials for education and training
-Provide support and guidance to faculty and staff involved in educational initiatives including curriculum development assessment and implementation of best practices
-Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among faculty residents and fellows within the department
Teaching Sites
-Assist in recruiting Faculty to teach
-Advise affiliated faculty residents and staff on clerkship policies
-Prepare Awards
Technical Skills
-Collaboration with Clerkship and Acting Internship Directors
-Serves as primary support for the clerkship and directors for matters related to rotations and may function as a representative to the clerkship if requested.
-Collaboration with the DOIM Associate Chair of Education
-Serves as primary support for the ACE in matters related to the M4 student advising Standard Evaluation Letter completion and medical student recruitment into Internal Medicine.
Administrative Duties
-Assist with managing budgets contracts and administrative tasks related to educational programs and activities
-Maintain accurate records databases and reports to track fellowship activities and program metrics
-Collaborate with departmental leadership and administrative staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of educational initiatives with other departments and stakeholders
Required Education &Experience
-Bachelors degree in education healthcare administration or related field required
-Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education coordination preferably in a healthcare or academic setting
-Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
-Proficiency in project management event planning and use of educational technology platforms
-Demonstrated ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-Commitment to promoting excellence in education training and professional development
-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalism and civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
