Job Description

Salary/Position Classification

  • $70000 9-Month Contract Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

The Department of Economics and Finance is seeking a 9-month non-tenure-track full-time Lecturer to teach eight to nine undergraduate courses in Introduction to Business and Economic Statistics Personal Finance and Principles of Financial Management per year. The Lecturer will also contribute to the mission of the department and University through service/outreach activities and will be expected to maintain faculty qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching - This position requires excellence in teaching and service in addition to professional engagement. The anticipated teaching load is four to five sections/courses per semester during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Courses will include Introduction to Business and Economic Statistics Personal Finance and Principles of Financial Management. Course delivery modes will include on-campus teaching and may also include hybrid (liveonline) and/or fully online.
  • Service - Service is expected and may include service to the Department of Economics and Finance the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration UND and appropriate professions. Ongoing professional service and engagement are expected as well to maintain faculty qualifications as outlined in the Nistler College Faculty handbook.

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters degree in related field from an AACSB accredited program.
  • Evidence of quality in undergraduate teaching in Business and Economic Statistics Personal Finance and Principles of Financial Management and/or other related courses.
  • Professional (work) experience that will result in being faculty qualified by AACSB.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the University of North Dakota
