Were looking for a collateral assistant who wants stability growth opportunity and an excellent compensation and benefits package and has an outgoing personality that brings enthusiasm and professionalism with a high level of ownership and accountability. In this role you will work with a team of dedicated bankers providing superior customer service to all bank clients (internal and external).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for professionally interacting with internal bank business partners comfortably communicating with clients and flawlessly handling critical details of timely certifying quality loan collateral packages to ensure sustainable operation in the Warehouse Lending group. In this role it will be crucial for you to anticipate the needs of the client to focus on building solid and long-lasting relationships.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Certify the quality of collateral packages including reviewing for appropriate documentation and filing of key loan documents into storage.
  • Actively participate in shipping collateral packages to investors including pulling loan files from storage preparing shipping labels and ensuring documentation accuracy timely responses and quality control reviews.
  • Run daily reports to ensure collateral location is confirmed as expected.
  • Provide superior customer service and appropriate follow-up with institutional customers and internal Bank business partners to create a successful sustainable operation of the Warehouse Lending group.
  • Enter routine data into the mortgage warehouse system.
  • Perform clerical duties such as scanning photocopying and faxing.
  • Complete and pass required training courses by due date.
  • Complies with all applicable rules laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned by Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of mortgage warehouses and mortgage loan terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic banking terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills and demonstrates a desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Effective listening skills communication skills and basic business writing skills with the ability to convey technical information in a way that is easy for others to understand.
  • Ability to establish smooth working relationships resolve interpersonal conflicts correct misunderstandings or errors and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Well-organized detail-oriented strong time management & planning skills with proven ability to multi-task & meet deadlines with great follow-up skills.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word Excel & Powerpoint).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree or equivalent professional experience in the banking or financial services industry a plus.
  • Minimum of one year of responsible work experience in a mortgage loan origination environment (i.e. processing underwriting closing and/or funding).

WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:

HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30a 4:30p

Some variation in work hours; rarely overtime

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The job operates in a generally comfortable and professional office environment largely sedentary work with some moving about the building. This role performs a high volume of repetitious tasks with some interruption. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as telephones computer/mouse/keyboard/ten-key photocopiers filing cabinets scanner and fax machine.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk hear and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. This role requires viewing a computer screen and frequent repetitive use of keyboard for approximately 6 hours per day.
