Highway and Transport Services Enhancing Lives Building Communities
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Technical Officer to join our team on a two-year fixed-term contract.
This role is key to progressing several important projects including essential health and safety work on box tombs in closed churchyards and supporting the delegation of services to town councils.
Youll take the lead on the adoption of public open spaces and amenity land making sure developments meet Council standards and deliver lasting benefits for local communities. Youll assess planning applications negotiate with developers and oversee the delivery of open space play areas and street furniture. The role also includes managing the burials service and working closely with internal teams legal services and local councils.
We are seeking someone with a strong technical background ideally with an HNC or higher and experience in planning construction or environmental projects. Youll need excellent communication and negotiation skills a good understanding of planning law and policy and the ability to manage complex with experience of procurement processes.
