The UNBSJ Student Accessibility Centre (SAC) exists to provide services and resources to support the success of students with disability-related needs during their time of study at UNB. SAC in partnership with the faculty staff and students of UNB strives to provide support ensure equal opportunity and create an accessible inclusive community for UNB students.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time Continuing Saint John On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm 36.25 hours per week (Summer Hours)

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Some overtime may be required during peak exam periods.

Salary Range: $40608 - $50761 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Student Accessibility Centre Manager the Student Accessibility Support Assistant provides support services and programs to students as related to testing. This position oversees the workflow and production of materials for accommodations specifically related to testing and examinations.

  • Coordinate accommodated quizzes tests and exams by working with faculty and students on scheduling and arrangements.
  • Book and manage test/exam spaces.
  • Ensure secure receipt of tests/exams from instructors and return of completed materials.
  • Recruit hire train schedule supervise and process payment for invigilators.
  • Ensure invigilators receive tests and any necessary equipment for their assigned shifts.
  • Enforce testing procedures at the Student Accessibility Centre (SAC) to uphold academic integrity.
  • Notify the SAC Manager of suspected academic misconduct such as cheating.
  • Oversee ongoing improvements to testing processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the SAC team to ensure accommodated testing aligns with broader student support strategies.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives that enhance the overall student experience.
  • Take on additional projects or responsibilities to support the SACs mission.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • College diploma in administration management human services or other related fields.
  • 2-years of experience working in a computerized fast-paced office environment.

Additional Strengths

  • University degree is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous experience working within a university setting is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting persons with disabilities; experience working with individuals with disabilities considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accountability with sound judgment decision-making and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and able to deliver quality results under pressure tight deadlines evolving priorities and multitasking demands.
  • Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and conflicting demands
  • Proficient with databases and Microsoft Office 365 software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Appreciation for diverse opinions roles experiences cultures and backgrounds.
  • Curious and collaborative with a commitment to learning improvement and embracing new technologies.
