Associate Director of Regional Events & Culture Job Summary
The Associate Director of Regional Events & Culture role is an integral part of the Strategy & Culture team ensuring KIPP DC sustains a positive employee experience for teammates at the regional level and leading efforts to enhance operational effectiveness and workplace belonging. The starting salary range for this role is $94082-$103984. This is a full-time occasional flexibility role based at HDQ with an anticipated start date of July 21 2025.

About the RoleThe Associate Director of Regional Events & Culture plays a pivotal role in shaping KIPP DCs culture by spearheading the strategy and execution of our regional events and culture portfolio. This role manages the team that oversees recognition and retention initiatives and event execution to foster a supportive and inclusive work culture for KIPP DC staff. This role leads the strategy and execution of efforts that drive employee engagement and supports KIPP DCs vision for a thriving workforce.Location and Type of WorkThis is an exempt position and will report to the Managing Director of Strategy and Culture. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support and this position will regularly provide on-site support to school teams frequently partner with other headquarters teams or regularly work in multiple locations. Because of the nature of the work this role allows for occasional flexibility and will be required to be onsite 4 days per week.ResponsibilitiesRegional Event Strategy & Execution (40%)- Lead the planning and execution of organization-wide events that foster community and celebrate achievements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans budgets and onsite management systems to lead the coordination of signature staff and external-facing events.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to produce event collateral such as printed materials merchandise and multimedia content.
- Institutionalize processes for best practices across internal and external event stakeholders including vendor management and post-event reporting.
- Align event strategy with organizational goals to meet overall talent objectives and strategic priorities.
Regional Culture & Employee Experience (30%)
- Champion KIPP DCs values and foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
- Lead the planning and execution of regional awards and milestone programming and processes.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic culture and employee experience goals and objectives partnering often with Talent Equity & Inclusion and Marketing & Communications to foster a team-oriented culture.
- Steward a range of culture efforts providing input on programming and recognition strategies to deepen KIPP DC affinity and bolster organizational effectiveness.
- Support the analysis and progress monitoring of culture initiatives to identify opportunities for improvement and share insights with stakeholders.
Culture & Operations Team Management (20%)- Lead and coach the Culture & Operations team to adapt to changing needs realize team vision and support individual growth.
- Supervise the Manager of Culture and Operations in developing and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement onboarding and retention.
- Develop systems to manage projects and progress across the team including hospitality events management and office operations workstreams.
Stakeholder Management & Communication (10%)- Develop maintain and expand relationships with key stakeholders across the executive team functional teams and school teams to ensure alignment and strengthen KIPP DC organizational culture.
- Partner with functional teams to co-own event success by leading operational initiatives and establishing decision-making and feedback loops for projects.
- Delegate effectively and empower project members to take ownership of their work.
- Facilitate clear communication strategies on all regional events and culture programming projects.
Requirements & PreferencesRequired Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years of professional work experience with 3 years of managing multiple stakeholders and projects
- At least 2 years of experience in direct people management or team leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in relevant planning project management or similar experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand frequently
- Ability to travel across campuses and other locations as needed
- Prolonged periods of sedentary work
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours or weekends for KIPP DC events
