Reporting to the Manager Business & Systems Analysis Chapter the Business & Systems Analyst is familiar with a wide variety of concepts practices and procedures as they relate to IT and general operations. They rely on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals and to do a variety of tasks. The Business & Systems Analyst conducts needs analysis writes requirements/user stories collaborates with others and supports the team to increase productivity and reduce costs.

What will you do

• Analyze and define user needs and translate them into system requirements/epics/user stories/data mapping documents.
• Work with the team to conduct analysis on business requests with a focus on the links between processes and systems throughout the organization.
• Create and/or provide comments into internal and external communications and user documentation.
• Review and provide comments on business and technical documentation.
• Support business on the roll-out of what has been developed with a focus on end-to-end validation.

What do you need to succeed

• 3 to 5 years of progressive experience as a Business & Systems Analyst
• Bilingualism (French English both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada
• Reliability Status: Must be eligible for and obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance through Sun Life.
• Good understanding of privacy compliance control and security requirements
• Skilled in test execution and understanding the outcomes
• Technical aptitude and ability to translate technical jargon into business language
• Strong analytical skills and comfortable with data requirements and related data activities
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with technical and business personnel
• Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed and/or ambiguous environments
• Good multitasking prioritization and time management skills
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments

Assets

• Experience in supporting client-facing operations is an asset
• Understanding of Call Centre practices is an asset
• Knowledge of financial services industry is an asset
• University degree in business or technology or an equivalent experience
• Knowledge of OASIS and Member Enrolment (ME) tool is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
