Kleinfelders Redmond WA office is seeking a creative highly talented and collaborative Geotechnical Group Leader.

The successful candidate willbe responsible foroverall management and delivery of geotechnicalservices performed through Kleinfelders Redmond office involving both internal and external teams. As part of the assigned dutiesthe Geotechnical Group Leaderwillbe responsible fordelivering quality services managing staff partnering with our business development team and collaborating with other Service Lines within the Company. Candidates should possess significant experience in geotechnical engineering and design construction supportproject managementandstaff development with integrity and a drive to succeed. The successful candidate willbe expected to partner with our Principals and lead the Redmond team in achieving high client service producing quality work products be responsive to client needs and questions meeting deadlines. and creating clear communications with our clients and staff.

Position Requirements:

  • Candidatesare required tohave 15 or more years of related experience including experience inWestern Washington.
  • LicensedPE in Washington.
  • Proven experience inbroad aspects ofgeotechnicalengineering
  • Proven experience of being a trusted advisor to clients of all sizes
  • Proven experiencemanaging and mentoring geotechnical staff
  • Proven experience in hiring engineering or geologic professionals
  • Proven experience in leading diverse project teams
  • Proven experience in capturing business development opportunities preparing proposals and/or leading technical aspects of large pursuits
  • Bachelors degree in CivilEngineeringor Engineering Geology. Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering stronglydesired.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to support and develop highly motivated individuals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experiencein business development to successfully work with team to win projects and develop client relationships
  • Experience inplanning implementing and managing geotechnical exploration programs
  • Experience guidingengineers and geologistsin performing site characterization foundation recommendations slope stability and settlement analyses etc.
  • Experience preparing geotechnical reports drawings and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects including transportation water retail hospitality commercial etc.
  • Experience managing projectbudgets client updates and general project management tasks
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards
  • Eave experience supervising field observation testing and performing site visits
  • Able to proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical client-focused solutions
  • Able tointerfacewith the civil design team to develop and value-engineer practical fit-for-use geotechnical engineering solutions
  • Be able to organize priorities and multi-task effectively
  • Collaborate with Area leadership and Project Managers
  • Possess a thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Washington Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $140000 - 235000.
