The Role:
The Content Creator (Internship)is a summer opportunity for anyone looking to build on their marketing and social media experience. This is a 2-3 month contract position and you do NOT need to be a student or affiliated with any colleges/universities within a coop/internship program.
You will work closely with our Social team as well as the broader Digital Marketing & Creative teams bringing your skills to create high-quality content for key platforms. This is an ideal role for an organized and communicative self-starter who is passionate about social content and storytelling. This role may also appear on-camera in content for American Talls social channels so a comfort representing the brand in front of the lens is a must.
Experience creating social content for Meta platforms Reels TikTok Shorts & Pinterest and a solid social content portfolio (static and dynamic) is required. Please include any links to your socials - personal or business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Interpret American Talls brand standards and social strategy for Instagram TikTok and Facebook pitching content that aligns with our brand identity and meets social objectives.
Collaborate with the Social & Community Specialist who oversees content calendar and social strategy to develop short- and long-term content plans that bolster annual marketing calendar.
Own end-to-end production of evergreen campaign-related and trend-responsive social content including videos Reels GIFs and static compositions.
Develop shot lists mockups and storyboards when necessary to align cross-functional teams to social production plans and self-manage content production.
Write entertaining accurate social media copy that accompanies the content you create (where needed) while maintaining a unified brand voice.
Support social listening and trend monitoring proactively recommending content ideas to the Social & Community Specialist and Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager.
Use analytics delivered by Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager and Social & Community Specialist to refine content execution and optimize performance.
Participate in brainstorming sessions bringing fresh innovative ideas to keep content engaging and relevant.
Experience Education and Designations
2 years of experience in social media content creation (this could be managing content for a brand or growing your own well-followed page).
Portfolio or links to social content/pages managed in past roles is required to demonstrating both static and dynamic content creation.
Knowledge Skills and Attributes
Deep enthusiasm for social media and cultural trends; youre often the first to spot new trends and inspire others with creative ideas.
Familiarity with platform-specific best practices and emerging content formats.
Highly skilled in production of both static and dynamic content with emphasis on short-form video creation (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop Lightroom Premiere After Effects etc Canva Figma InShot CapCut).
Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design and visual storytelling.
Collaborative mindset able to work cross-functionally to bring content ideas to life.
Strong understanding of data-driven content creation and performance optimization.
Familiarity with our audiencetall men and womenand an understanding of their unique style needs is a plus.
