ROLE SUMMARY
The Contract Management Team is a business team within the Market Access Strategy Pricing & Analytics (MASPA) Institutional Contracting department which focuses on developing implementing and maintaining critical contractual agreements to support Pfizer Business Unit Sales and Portfolio strategies related to Pfizer Sterile Injectables Surgical and Oncology Products. The Institutional Contracting Director/TL has oversight responsibility for all facets of the contract management process for the established customer base which includes but is not limited to the following books of business: Institutions Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) andWholesalers. The Director/TL manages 5-8 direct reports and works closely with the Brand/Portfolio team Account Management Contract Strategy Contract Development Rebate Administration Government Pricing Global Business Services Legal as well as external customers.
ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
Lead all facets of the contract management process in accordance with SOX requirements and corresponding controls
Ensure that all policies procedures and processes are adhered to by the Contract Management team to protect the assets of Pfizer
Lead the design and implementation of training programs for the Contract Management team
Provide necessary systems and operational support to ensure that the Flex contracting system operates efficiently; lead system implementations and upgrades including UAT
Ensure effective implementation of all contract strategies with processes that enable all Business Units to meet their contracting objectives
Collaborate with internal teams (Strategy Development and Rebate Administration) where applicable to ensure contracts are designed and executed so that they can be administered effectively and efficiently
Provide the necessary tools guidance and training which will promote the opportunity for personal/professional growth of direct reports
Complete all required assessments of team members including mid-year and year end assessment talent planning succession planning and individual growth plans
Identify opportunities to improve team and department processes and controls; look for ways to automate manual or inefficient processes; identify opportunities that positively impact Pfizer as a whole even if having small negative impact on contract management team or processes
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a bachelors degree with 8 years of experience OR a masters degree with 7 years of experience OR PhD degree with 5 years of relevant experience .
Relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry or relative experience preferred; contracting/rebating experience a plus but not required
Demonstrated high level of expertise of contracting systems (e.g. Flex) including implementation project management
Demonstrated knowledge of contracting and the customer markets
Demonstrated knowledge of organized customers including Institutions Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and Wholesalers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to coordinate the requirement gathering build and launch of innovative processes reporting tools and digital solutions
Demonstrated track record of collaboration accountability & ownership of results flexibility & adaptability in a rapidly changing environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal to influence and develop customer relationships and offer guidance.
Strong ability to lead change
