The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for providing cross-functional project management on behalf of the Global Services Business Unit (GSBU) in support of launching new product introductions and executing key strategic initiatives. The Sr. Project Manager is the primary liaison between Intuitives Engineering teams / Engineering PMO and the Field Service Technical Support Customer Success and Service Operations teams supporting each product. With the development and introduction of new products the Sr. Project Manager identifies service strategies service requirements risks deliverables and schedules. The incumbent leads a cross-functional effort to execute GSBUs readiness to the project plan. The Sr. Project Manager will tightly align with upstream/downstream business partners supporting a specific Intuitive product line. The success of the Services Program Management team is mission critical to the success of the worldwide Services business unit. Essential Job Duties
Leads new product introductions (NPI) for the Global Services Business Unit from initiation through product release in partnership with the Digital Business Unit
Leads key projects for Service teams globally directly impacting the successful execution of mission-critical strategic organizational change
Responsible for management of scope timeline resources and overall project plan to meet project goals
Oversees and coordinates functional participation within the project team and contributions toward the project plan
Manages the project plan by identifying critical path constraints contingencies and mitigations to achieve project goals. Escalates threats to project plan as required to functional management and senior leadership
Works across the organization to align support and input for the project
Contributes to product development process optimization by sharing best practice development lessons learned resource leveling and process input
Presents project status updates to senior management team
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 12 years of experience leading the introduction of new products into a service or manufacturing operations environment and/or supporting global operational expansion.
Operations medical device industry and/or software experience preferred
Effective communication influence leadership change management conflict management and negotiation skills
High level of proficiency using Microsoft Project Smartsheet or other Project Management software
Ability to understand technical information and translate project requirements into clear deliverables
Must possess exceptional attention to detail individual initiative and a sense of ownership
Must be an effective communicator capable of interfacing with all levels of the organization from front-line engineers to executives
Excellent relationship-building customer focus and facilitation skills
Requires knowledge of engineering product strategy and business management
Comfortable with all phases of the product development lifecycle including idea generation concept development testing design implementation validation and transfer
Budgets project/program cost tracking and other technical management administrative experience
Required Education and Training
Four-year degree (Bachelors degree or global equivalent) in Engineering or a scientific field preferred business finance or other related field will be considered in conjunction with experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
PMP or other project management certification preferred
Capable of maintaining a rapid pace enjoying having multiple projects simultaneously. Can change course be scrappy and get things done on short timeframes.
Experience working in a regulated environment. Familiarity with medical device regulations CFR & ISO preferred.
Experience working at a startup or other fast-paced environment.
