Job Description

The House of Commons Finance Services is currently looking to staff the Team Lead Inventory and Operations position on a determinate basis with the term extending until the end of thefiscal year.

This recruitment and selection process is open only to employees of the House of Commons Administration.

As Team Lead Inventory and Operations you will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of materiel management services that support all Members of Parliament House Officers and the House Administration. This important position involves planning and leading services that are tailored to the distinct needs of a high-profile clientele all while ensuring adherence to a robust framework of corporate policies procedures and service delivery standards.

In your capacity as a team lead you will oversee a high volume of transactions and apply risk management and quality assurance principles to ensure integrity and compliance. Your proactive approach will help identify and mitigate potential risks related to asset usage with the responsibility of escalating issues to senior management when necessary. You will also provide tailored advisory services to Members at various stages of their parliamentary journey whether newly elected re-elected or departing as well as during key events such as general elections and corporate renewal initiatives.

Additionally you will manage centralized asset systems and oversee the full lifecycle of assets located both on Parliament Hill and in constituency offices across the country. By leading training efforts and promoting awareness of applicable House policies manuals and digital tools you will empower Members and their staff to manage their assets effectively and responsibly. Qualifications :

Education :

  • College education in Administration or Commerce OR an acceptable combination of education experience and training supplemented by formal training and certification in the field of professional market/supply chain management.

Experience :

  • Extensive experience in directing and managing materiel management operations for a national clientele (Parliament Hill and MP constituencies across Canada).
  • Comprehensive experience in overseeing operations and services within a distinctive government institutional environment.
  • Experience in conducting in-depth analyses risk assessments and investigations of materiel management issues and in formulating recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Experience in developing operational and project plans as well as business cases to support service delivery process improvements and the integration of technology to enhance client services.
  • Experience in providing strategic advice to senior-level clients.
  • Experience in managing staff financial and materiel resources.

Assets :

  • A certification such as an APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) designation a Government of Canada Certificate in Procurement  Materiel and Contract Management and Real Property.
