JOB DESCRIPTION
The Attorney Generals Office in Augusta has an immediate opening for an Assistant Attorney General (AAG) within the Professional and Financial Regulation Division of the Office. The primary responsibility of this AAG will be to provide legal counsel to various professional licensing boards and programs within and affiliated with the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation and/or financial regulatory agencies within the Department. This work involves handling disciplinary complaints against licensed professionals and entities providing legal analysis and opinions on regulatory matters performing agency rule review defending agency decisions on appeal to the Superior Court and enforcing agency orders in court.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This is not an entry level position. The applicant must be a member of the Maine Bar in good standing have an eye for legal detail be interested in complex state regulation have strong legal advocacy and writing skills and have a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team. One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in administrative law and litigation is preferred.
