The New York County District Attorneys Office (DANY) is seeking a highly motivated Human Resources Intern to join its Human Resources Department. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in a wide range of HR functions within a fast-paced and mission-driven public sector environment. Under supervision the HR Intern will support various HR initiatives and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
-Assisting with HR data entry maintenance and audits across internal and City systems.
-Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes including scheduling interviews and preparing materials.
-Helping maintain accurate and organized personnel records in compliance with agency and City policies.
-Assisting with HR reports and data analysis to support decision-making and compliance efforts.
-Participating in special projects related to employee engagement diversity initiatives training or policy updates.
-Collaborating with other HR units (e.g. Compensation Payroll Performance Review) to support cross-functional tasks.
-Assist with timekeeping functions including tracking employee hours reviewing timesheets and ensuring accuracy in payroll records.
-Support labor relations efforts including assisting with the preparation of documentation for grievance resolutions employee relations issues and compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
-Providing general administrative support to the HR team such as organizing files tracking documents and responding to inquiries.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
-Must be detail-oriented paying strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
-Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.
-Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies procedures and guidelines.
-Excellent interpersonal organizational and written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Qualifications :
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June - August each year.
