Job Description

The Manager leads the Field Compensation Interaction Center a dedicated team of professionals who serve as the go-to compensation resource for our advisors field leaders and home office partners. The Interaction Center provides expert guidance and personalized support on a wide range of compensation-related topics including grid revenue commissions incentives compensation splits and new money. At its core the team is responsible for helping our advisors and field leaders navigate compensation policies processes and advisor team structures with confidence.

The Manager champions service excellence and oversees the daily operations and workflow of the Interaction Center ensuring quality standards are timely met meaningfully impacting advisor satisfaction and business performance. In addition the Manager serves as a key member of the Field Compensation Leadership Team helping shape the strategic direction of the team and influencing compensation policies and procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits develops and sustains a high-performing empathetic team while promoting a culture of shared accountability operational excellence high-quality service and partnership across the organization.

  • Leads a team of service professionals who will compassionately and diplomatically serve as the primary source of contact with financial advisors and field leaders on compensation recognition team structure and relationship management questions and requests. Continually monitors effectiveness of service model and improves as needed.

  • Ensures adherence to state and federal compensation regulations and Thrivent policies.

  • Influences compensation policies and procedures and department strategic direction through service on the Field Compensation Leadership Team.

  • Effectively researches and problem-solves issues and concerns raised by financial advisors and field leaders.

  • Partners with all levels of field leadership to resolve individual financial advisor compensation and credit issues. Manages all service contacts in a prompt efficient manner giving accurate thorough and detailed responses.

  • Develops and maintain spreadsheets macros and other tools used by the team ensure highly effective and efficient services are provided to the field.

  • Provides leadership insight and support to key departmental and corporate cross-functional projects.

This role interacts with financial advisors field leaders and key cross-functional home office partners. It significantly impacts the satisfaction and business results of financial advisors and field leaders by the services themselves and the manner in which the services are provided. The role also significantly influences the development interpretation and administration of compensation and recognition policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • Broad understanding of field contracting/employment compensation systems recognition and client assignment systems or ability to quickly learn.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential controversial and sensitive interactions with financial advisors field leaders and corporate employees.

  • Excellent analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional ability to facilitate and respond effectively and empathetically to customer inquiries.

  • Comfort in interpreting and applying general program guidelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor individuals as well as facilitating group-training sessions.

  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of Thrivents field revenue program or ability to quickly learn.

  • Solid understanding of Thrivents product portfolio including non-proprietary products or ability to quickly learn.

  • In-depth knowledge of Thrivents field distribution system or ability to quickly learn.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.

  • Exceptional organizational skills to schedule meetings trainings etc.

Preferred:

  • Three or more years of experience managing staff directly or in project management role

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $79938.00 - $108152.00 per year which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to location relevant experience skills and knowledge business needs market demand and other factors Thrivent deems important.
