Location:Charleston South Carolina
Schedule:MondayFriday 8am-5pm; Onsite; flex remote Fridays offered after established!

Weve partnered with a well-established local government-supported agency focused on affordable housing and community development. Theyre seeking anAccounting Managerto lead day-to-day accounting functions and ensure compliance with HUD and other regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and reconcile complex financial transactions in compliance with HUD guidelines
- Review approve and manage journal entries and general ledger accuracy
- Investigate and resolve accounting issues across departments
- Monitor account activity for completeness accuracy and compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal state and internal policies
- Mentor junior accounting staff (two direct reports) and support cross-functional teams
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 4 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles; experience with HUD or government housing programs is aplus
- Detail-oriented analytical and confident in decision-making
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
