Job Description

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Section 2961 of the Ohio Revised Code prohibits individuals convicted of a felony including but not limited to fraud deceit or theft from holding a position that has substantial management or control over the property of a state agency. Additionally section 5703.081 of the Ohio Revised Code requires the Ohio Department of Taxation employees to promptly file and pay tax returns.

4 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e. management & development of project/program requirements design development testing/pilot training & full scale implementation) with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g. specific human service program area management information sciences fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.

-Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration public administration computer science/information technology social science or health with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects; 12 mos. exp. in project management (i.e. management & development of project/program requirements design development testing/pilot training & full scale implementation).

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Project Manager 1 63381 or IT Project Manager 1 63384.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

The Department of Taxation is looking to fill up to one (1) IT Project Manager 2 in our Project Management Office.

What Youll do as an IT Project Manager 2:

  • Implementing our project management process and methodology
  • Lead teams to deliver clear communication helpful support and high-quality service to Ohio taxpayers.
  • Oversee and drive initiatives that streamline workflows and enhance the overall experience for both employees and Ohio taxpayers.
  • Develop and empower employees to collaborate grow and consistently deliver excellent results.
  • Consulting on or run the organizations projects ensuring consistency and best practice
  • Selecting and maintaining project management technology such as software and application
  • Performing resource allocation and budgeting for projects
  • Communicating with stakeholders and participants
  • Monitoring supplier performance
