What Youll Do
The Project Manager will be a member of the Project Management (PM) Organization and report to the Director Infrastructure and Security Projects.
Responsible for execution of high to substantial risk and complexity approved project scopes of work or up to $100M within cost and on schedule. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning project team and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity quality and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with integrated project teams line managers and clients.
Directs project management activities for production and technical projects to meet plant and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) policies and guidelines. Manages and directs the day-to-day activities of one or more non-DOE O 413.3B projects including the formulation of the project team development of project execution plans including resource-loaded schedules subcontractor and direct hire execution testing turnover and operational readiness activities. Ensures effective communications exists with and among projects for which they are responsible. Maintains project documentation and provides status reports. Responsible for execution of project tasks within plans. Briefs senior managers at least monthly on project activities cost schedule and technical performance. Exercises initiative and independent judgment and discretion under limited supervision.
Job Knowledge
Position requires knowledge of and experience in planning executing and managing engineering and construction projects. Experience utilizing various procurement successful project to lead a diverse sta to meet organizational goals and customer expectations. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable project management processes and control systems including Earned Value Management. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in reporting to customers and stakeholders. Ability to work with personnel at all levels across the organization and external stakeholders. Ability to identify a problem and drive resolution to completion.
Ability to manage and direct the activities of technical and administrative project personnel; ability to identify and develop required resources to support project schedules; ability to logically and systematically evaluate project and process problems to determine appropriate solutions; ability to interface with internal and external customers including management users and DOE NNSA and YFO.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree: Minimum 8 years of relevant relevant experience ranging from 10 to 15 years.
- ORMasters degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant relevant experience ranging from 10 to 15 years.
- OR 16or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Prior experience planning and leading projects.
- Experience managing production-type projects in the DOE DOD or similar industries.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certication (i.e. PMP EVP CGC CCM etc.) or ability to earn certification within one year of employment.
- Working knowledge and understanding of DOE policies procedures and requirements in areas associated with project management.
- Experience with construction related projects
- Ability to identify and develop required resources to support project schedules
- Demonstrated computer skills and prociency with the Microsoft Oce products.
- Demonstrated skills in planning organization and schedule compliance.
- Requires excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills a high level of personal motivation high standards and the ability to work with the team and support organizations to address/resolve project issues and meet short deadlines.
