Job Description

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for Gifted and Talented Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This assignment comes on an extended work calendar of 197 days. Applicants must pass a national criminal background check and a background check through the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry prior to beginning employment.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. Enable students
to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree from accredited university with completed coursework for Gifted and Talented educationOR partially completed coursework for Gifted and Talented education OR willing to complete Gifted and Talented education licensure requirements within a three (3) year period
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned


Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills


Experience:
At least one year of student teaching or approved internship


The Board may find appropriate and acceptable alternatives to the above qualifications.
