Job Description
The Sr Capital Planning Manager to support the capital planning and operations processes supporting capital planning operations for new launches and Retrofits expansions and initiatives across all miles in the APAC network.

Successful candidates will have a strong level of ownership and be highly motivated individuals. This individual will support other teams to deliver fulfillment network capacity on time. The Capital Planning and governance Manager will develop and help simplify processes will have a high work capacity while being detail oriented and agile to manage the impact of business changes. This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing with and influencing various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization to be successful.
Analytics and process improvements are also a focus area for this role: how can we do better how can we better serve our customers and how can we use our data to move the needle for the business.
Role requirements:
1. Build the capital plan for APAC including cost estimating and benchmarking for new launches (MHE real estate construction)
2. Lead / support on approvals for Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) including working with 10 stakeholders to develop the approvals
3. Analytics - provide governance oversight of the capital invested to ensure adherence to scope adherence to spending and transaction policy and insights on change orders supplemental funding drivers and root cause to improve the capital planning process.
Key job responsibilities
-Work with internal Amazon teams to deliver network capacity on time through capital planning effectiveness:
-Work with cross-functional stakeholders to drive program adherence.
-Create submit and track the relevant Capex documentation to enable all projects to be delivered on time within budget and at best overall value.
-Track the status of all critical inputs for active funding requests.
-Develop maintain and audit standard item lists containing unit price vendor part # etc. for standard process equipment.
-General data entry and data auditing tasks.
-Schedule and moderate multiple weekly standing meetings with internal teams to obtain or share information and track deliverables.
-Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organizational team structure.
-Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution on an as needs basis.
-Provide equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competitiveness.
-Coordinate information between various teams in the organization.
-Govern capital funding post-approval (cost control) of spend against plan including root cause of changes supplemental funding requests etc.
-Understand operational processes.
-Use SQL and analytics to drive data
A day in the life
60% of the time will be managing capital funding requests liaising between key stakeholders (Project Managers and Directors).
The remaining 40% of the time will be spent on process improvements driving key value from the International Capital planning and Governance: data dashboards metrics and KPIs.
-Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Finance or related field
-Experience in complex project management roles with proven ability to deliver workable solutions and on-time projects
-Experience in leading large-scale projects and programs utilizing data to drive decision-making and process improvement.
-Experience managing influencing and negotiating project requirements with business partners and cross functional teams.
-Advanced Proficiency in Excel and Tableau
-Proficiency using SQL or other data analysis tools/languages.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills to peers and senior leadership teams.
-Comfortable with ambiguities conflicting priorities and multi-cultural and matrix environment.
-Masters degree/MBA or other advanced degree in Engineering Finance or related field
-Finance acumen - analysis capital portfolio management etc.
-Amazon Operations Engineering Startup and/or Launch experience
-PMP Certification
-Knowledge of Spanish German French Polish Arabic Turkish Afrikaans or Zulu
