Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Strategic Vendor Operations Manager to lead our supplier sourcing and relationship management initiatives. This role focuses on identifying and managing suppliers across diverse manufacturing technologies ensuring alignment with our companys strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on management skills and be willing to travel up to 25% of the time to engage with suppliers directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify evaluate and onboard suppliers specializing in various manufacturing technologies ensuring they meet quality cost and delivery standards.
- Hands-On Vendor Management: Engage directly with suppliers to oversee production processes troubleshoot issues and implement improvements ensuring optimal performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements that align with company goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including engineering manufacturing and quality assurance to align supplier capabilities with project requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for supplier visits audits and relationship management activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in vendor management or strategic sourcing with a focus on manufacturing technologies.
