The Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) is currently seeking applicants for a non-tenure track full-time Instructor of Biology. This position begins August 16 2025 and includes teaching and service commitments over the 9-month academic year (August 16 May 15). The appointment is for one academic year.
Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in the biological sciences. Candidates with a strong background in cell biology and microbiology are desired.
The Department of Biology serves undergraduate students across LMU as well as post-baccalaureate students. The successful candidate is expected to teach lower division courses such as General Biology I and Cell Function and upper division Biology electives within the candidates area of expertise preferably in microbiology. The successful candidate should also be committed to excellence in teaching and promotion of equitable and inclusive classrooms and collaboration spaces.
