The Association for Individual Development (AID) since 1961 has served individuals with developmental intellectual physical and/or mental health challenges those who have suffered a trauma and those at risk. As a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical developmental intellectual mental health challenges to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for aSpecialist for Accounts Receivable who demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community.

What you will be doing

Responsible for myriad of functions within the Finance Department. Responsible for monthly general ledger close according to the Finance Department including preparation of standard monthly journal entries and accruals posting and applying payments for State Federal and local grants and contributors complete monthly client Social Security bank reconciliations sending invoices and statements to vendors and clients. Maintain accounts receivable records in accounting software. Assist with analysis of key general ledger accounts reconciliations and research variances. Works with outside auditors on fieldwork for annual audit. Respond to AID staff questions/inquiries/notifications on any related matters. Other tasks and projects as assigned by AVP of Finance/CFO.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Handle assigned aspects of month end close including monthly account reconciliations regular and repetitive journal entries.
  • Accurate and timely reconciliation of monthly Social Security bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Bill and prepare statements for vendors and clients.
  • Respond professionally and timely to all AID staff questions/inquiries/notifications.
  • Participate in annual audit by preparing schedules and work papers for independent audit firm as required.
  • Proficiency in all modules of accounting software (Sage Intacct)

  • What will you bring to the table

    Education: Bookkeeping/Accounting degree preferred or 2yrs professional experience

    Experience: Bookkeeping and/or Accounting Accounts Receivable knowledge within the medical (Medicaid) and/or Social Security field prefer social services or medical strong Excel skills familiarity with computerized accounting systems general office experience.
    Other Requirements: Problem solving time management detail orientated good organizational skills.

    calculator copier)
