About the role
The Brisbane Grammar School Swimming Program operates year-round offering aquatic coaching services to both BGS students and the wider community. Our primary focus is to deliver high-quality aquatic coaching and instruction to all BGS swimmers. Additionally we aim to create a comprehensive long-term athletic development pathway for all athletes ranging from stroke development to high-performance training. We are seeking a Junior Development Squad Coach for approximately 18 hours per week plus competition hours over weekends.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities may be modified from time to time to ensure the expected outcomes are achievable. Without limiting the above the key responsibilities shall include:
Present a positive and professional manner on behalf of the centre in the community.
Must attend targeted competitions clinics and any other swimming event beneficial to the Club as directed by the Director of Swim Club & Head Coach.
Other duties as directed by Director of Swim Club & Head Coach.
Provide high quality coaching while delivering a planned and graduated training program to the BGS Swimming Program Junior and Micro Squads.
Maintain the integrity of being part of the BGS Swimming Coaching Team.
Foster a close working relationship with all BGS Program Staff.
Assist with all operational requirements of the BGS Swimming Program.
Performance Standards
Tasks allocated to the position shall be performed to agreed standards and in accordance with established procedural guidelines. Performance indicators shall be those as agreed with the Director of Swim Club & Head Coach.
Work is carried out in accordance with accepted industry standards quality assurance standards compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Act and other legislative requirements or standards which may be appropriate and including Brisbane Grammar Schoolpolicies procedures and local laws.
Allocated tasks and reporting requirements are consistently completed within the agreed timeframes.
Actively participates in planning and recommending possible ways in which allocated tasks and responsibilities can be carried out more effectively and efficiently.
Demonstrate a spirit of cooperation toward other employees and the achievement of Brisbane Grammar Schools aims and objectives.
