Position Details:
Job Role: QA QC Manager (Shutdown)
Experience Required : 12 Years Experience in Oil & Gas Industry with minimum 4 shutdowns in GCC countries.
Location : Oman
Education: BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN OIL AND GAS SECTOR
THIS IS SHUTDOWN OPPORTUNITY
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop implement and maintain the project-specific QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 API Q1/Q2 or equivalent.
- Ensure all QA/QC procedures ITPs and checklists are current relevant and project-specific.
- Promote a quality culture across all disciplines and stakeholders.
2. Project Quality Planning:
- Prepare Project Quality Plans Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and other QA/QC documentation.
- Ensure quality requirements are properly communicated to all subcontractors suppliers and construction teams.
- Participate in project kick-off and pre-inspection meetings to align quality expectations.
3. Inspection & Testing:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of QA/QC Engineers Inspectors and Technicians.
- Monitor welding NDT coating mechanical civil and E&I inspection activities.
- Ensure that inspection records are maintained and meet traceability requirements.
4. Audits and Non-Conformance Management:
- Plan and conduct internal and external audits (supplier audits site audits).
- Identify non-conformities and drive root cause analysis corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Track NCRs and ensure timely closeout with corrective actions implemented.
5. Vendor and Subcontractor Quality Control:
- Evaluate and approve vendor and subcontractor QA/QC plans and procedures.
- Conduct surveillance visits and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
- Verify material certification traceability and conformity with specifications.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain quality records including WPS/PQR welder qualifications material test certificates (MTCs) calibration records etc.
- Prepare and submit quality reports to management and clients (weekly/monthly/close-out reports).
- Support document control in maintaining up-to-date QA/QC documentation.
7. Client & Regulatory Liaison:
- Serve as primary point of contact with client QA/QC representatives.
- Support regulatory inspections and compliance requirements (e.g. OSHA ADNOC ARAMCO etc.).
- Facilitate client inspections and third-party witness points.
8. Team Leadership & Training:
- Mentor QA/QC team members and ensure proper training and qualification.
- Foster team collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with construction HSE and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
