As a VAS Network Operations Engineer you will support daily data center operations at one of Sandvine s key client sites. Your attention to detail and investigative skills will be key in monitoring identifying and resolving potential issues in a highavailability production environment.
Work with Customer Network Operations for deployment maintenance administration and operational tasks
Diagnose Sandvine equipment failures
Recommend configuration changes and assist with implementations
General services as required including installation of software maintenance updates for all Sandvine devices and solutions
Proactive health monitoring of software/hardware issues Daily monitoring of system health KPIs logs alarms with a sense of urgency when issues arise
Work within customers change management and maintenance window guidelines
Analyze & troubleshoot critical Applications traffic and detect problems through the use of essential software tools (traffic sniffers simulators traffic detection MRTG PRTG SNMP polling logs)
Good background of packet level debugging using Wireshark tcpdump tcpreplay or similar tools
Lead the analysis/discussion with other departments in order to solve and prevent issues
Submitting and escalation of issues into L2 support as needed
Accountability for Case management and ensuring that they are resolved
Providing consultative support and mentor other less experienced team members
Positive contribution towards quality reviews for other colleagues and peers
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science Engineering or other STEM program
1 year of applicable experience
Commanding knowledge of Unixbased operating systems such as Linux FreeBSD etc
Handson experience with the installation configuration and/or operation of network equipment such as Cisco Juniper or other network hardware manufacturers
Proven experience in virtualization technologies (VMware KVM) deployment of Openstack and experience with automation tools like Ansible
Familiar with cloud architecture (AWS Google cloud AWS ) containers and orchestration concepts (kubernetes swarm) and tools like DockerJenkins
Proven Experience in virtual concepts like: NUMA SRIOV PCIPassthroughVirtio
Good understanding of NFV particularly around MANO/ONAMP
Excellent technical background with a strong understanding of networking (specifically IP related technologies)
Experience in Quality Assurance testing
Excellent understanding of endtoend network call flows as well as relevant technologies & protocols (DNS HTTP HTTPS DHCP RADIUS DIAMETER GRE SIP RTP MGCP H.323RTCP)
Good understanding of billing and charging concepts and experience with Online Charging and Policy Enforcement (OCS PCRF PCEF)
Good experience in Data communication industry with different operator networks for Wireline (Cable DSL FTTH) and/or Wireless (Satellite WiFi LTE GPRS3G CDMA3G WiMAX GSM UMTS4G and 5G)
Good background of packet level debugging using Wireshark tcpdump tcpreplay or similar tools
100% Remote.
