Overview

The Application Support Engineer is tasked with ensuring the stability performance and availability of critical business applications. Primary responsibilities encompass maintaining and upgrading essential software systems designing and rigorously testing disaster recovery procedures documenting the architecture integrations and subsystems of software systems managing monitoring systems and proactive event management and providing tier 4 technical support during service disruptions in collaboration with the Tiered Support and Application teams. Application Support Engineer ensures that all software systems comply with established technology and cybersecurity standards.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found nonimmune to measles mumps rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus diphtheria acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains businesscritical software systems
  • Provides tier 4 technical support during service degradation and outages
  • Design and Testing Disaster Recovery Functionality and Recurring Testing Documents technical system disaster recovery process and procedures that meets RTO/RPO standards and in partnership with infrastructure architecture and engineering
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation of software systems architecture integrations and subsystems
  • Maintains monitoring and proactive event management

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and 35 years experience as an application support engineer or closely related positions. OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years experience as an application support engineer or closely related positions.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Preferred
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Preferred
  • Agile & Scrum Certification Preferred
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamental Preferred
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Preferred
