POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y a leading nonprofit. In coordination with the Fitness Directors provides leadership for the development funding administration delivery and supervision of the LIVESTRONG program at both the Central YMCA and Davis Family YMCAs. Builds and sustains a culture of friendship achievement and belonging within the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: MEMBER RECRUITMENT & RETENTION Recruits and engages cancer survivors as new program participants. Maintains retention through conversion of participants to members alumni group high quality staff programs and services and facility/equipment upkeep and cleanliness.
MEMBER SERVICE & ENGAGEMENTActs intentionally to connect people with the Y cause through our service and engagement principles; Welcome Connect Support Invite. Contributes to a culture creating friendship achievement and belonging within the program.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENTCoordinates and coaches the LIVESTRONG program at both the Central and Davis Family YMCAs which includes quality planning schedules registration delivery data collection and improvement; monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program. Manages supplies equipment and music and cohort graduation ceremonies.
TALENT MANAGEMENTAssists the Fitness Director to recruit hire onboard train develop schedule engage and direct LIVESTRONG Coaches and volunteers as needed. Ensures that assigned staff maintain certifications and attend required training and inservices. Assists in leading and planning Quarterly Inservices for coaches. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and volunteers.
FACILITY MANAGEMENT Coordinates use of facilities for program activities; ensures a safe clean and productive environment. Assures the cleanliness of spaces and equipment utilized. Records and reports all needed maintenance or repairs; repairs as directed.
RISK MANAGEMENTWorks with Fitness Directors to ensure program operations adhere to all state local and YMCA health and safety regulations and procedures including Child Abuse Prevention emergencies HIPAA medical facility use and disciplinary situations; completes and follows up on Incident Reports. Attends Team Leader Quarterly Inservice.
FISCAL MANAGEMENTManages the Ys resources responsibly and sustains the Ys nonprofit business model to ensure revenue/expense and program services goals are achieved. Works with Directors on LIVESTRONG department budget
FUNDRAISING & STEWARDSHIPCollaborates with the Director of Development to secure philanthropic funding and grants for LIVESTRONG program. Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events. Supports the annual campaign by raising funds getting volunteer campaigners. Assists in the stewardship program with thank you cards invitations to graduation and sharing impact stories.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS Works with the Fitness Directors and Marketing Team for marketing and distribution of YMCA branded program information and YMCA collateral; follows all marketing procedures and policies. Supports marketing efforts through word of mouth. Promotes LIVESTRONG program with area doctors and cancer programs to increase awareness and grow program. Stays up to date on organization communication through website app newsletters memos emails from supervisor and administration and utilizes the Paycor home page communication system.
RELATIONSHIP BUILDINGModels relationshipbuilding skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all inquiries emails messages and complaints in a timely manner. Maintains regular clear and concise communication within area of responsibility.
COLLABORATION Develops and maintains collaborative relationships within the medical field and other cancer survivor organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS: 18 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent Two years related experience in group exercise and/or small group facilitator preferred. Completion of YMCA programspecific certifications including LIVESTRONG at the YMCA HIPAA and maintenance of outside certification(s). Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Empathy and encouragement for working with cancer survivors. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Listens and expresses self effectively and in a way that engages inspires and builds commitment to the Ys cause. Requirements Upon Hire: Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: New Staff Orientation Child Abuse Prevention CPR/AED First Aid Oxygen Bloodborne Pathogens Sexual Harassment training and Y Leader certification.
