Job Description

College and Career Readiness Programs Coordinator

Goodrich Academy

FPS is currently working with DESEs Statewide System of Support to plan and implement turnaround strategies at four of its schools.

The College and Career Readiness Programs Coordinator is responsible for delivering a highquality instructional experience consistent with the curriculum standards of the school district.

Essential duties for all faculty members include classroom instruction; conferences with students parents and colleagues; and active participation in the work of the department on curriculum development activities and pedagogy.

Qualifications:

  • Teacher Administrator or professional staff member with extensive experience in workforce development.
  • A Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and/or subject area appropriate for the assignment.
  • SEI Endorsement.
  • Knowledge of local labor market needs and trends.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively for students seeking career opportunities with local employers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the HS administration and guidance team to build Innovation Career Pathways (ICP)/Mass BioEd Carl Perkins Early College High School (ECHS) programs and opportunities at FHS.
  • Coordinate all material reporting activities and related events specific to the Innovation Career Pathways (ICP)/Mass BioEd Carl Perkins and Early College High School (ECHS) grants.
    • Tasks will include grant writing and reporting development of supplemental budgets management of the related budgets coordination of committee meetings and other tasks pertinent to the grants.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to promote and recruit for the ICP and ECHS programs.
  • Develop revise and update the FHS Program of Studies on an annual basis as it relates to the ICP ECHS and Perkins course sequences and pathways.
  • Foster successful partnerships among local district and regional sending schools Mount Wachusett Community College and Fitchburg State University families and community and business organizations.
  • Communicate with and grow outside business/private industry partners agencies and higher education institutions.
  • Coordinate WorkBased Learning Plans and Internship programming in collaboration with the guidance and administration at FHS.
  • Updates all specific programming data and information on an annual and semiannual basis using the appropriate Student Information System (Aspen).

  • Must have knowledge of Chapter 74 programming and/or the Innovation Career Pathways grant process.
  • Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks curriculum instruction and assessment in the content area of instruction especially those related to postsecondary and/or career/technical education programs.
  • Expertise in digital applications and computer skills in order to facilitate communication amongst a variety of constituents.
  • Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to maintain effective and professional collegial relationships and expertise in assessment & data analysis.
  • Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning including for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs 504 plans andor second language learners.
  • Performance of other jobrelated duties as assigned.
