What You Will Do:

The IT Modernization Consultant plays a pivotal role in transforming legacy IT systems into modern efficient and scalable solutions. This position involves assessing current IT infrastructure designing modernization strategies and implementing innovative technologies to align with organizational goals. The consultant collaborates with stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and optimal performance.

Responsibilities of this role are as follows to include but not limited to:

• Evaluate existing IT systems and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement.

• Develop and implement modernization strategies including cloud migration and system upgrades.

• Development and sustainment of interconnected IT systems acquisitions and transformations

• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

• Lead the integration of emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning into IT systems.

• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for modernization projects.

• Provide training and support to teams on new systems and technologies.

• Document processes outcomes and lessons learned for future reference.

• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to recommend cuttingedge solutions.

What You Will Need:

• Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust

• EIGHT (8) or more years of professional experience supporting IT strategy/modernization; with at least ONE (1) year experience in AI at DHS or any Government Agency.

• Azure Fundamentals Certificate

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Existing DHS Suitability.

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.

• PMIACP

• PMP

• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.

• Ability to manage complex projects and meet tight deadlines.

• Hands on experience focusing on software sustainment modernization and IT Project Management.

• Experience supporting federal government customers and/or prior experience within the federal government.

• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Consultants need to effectively communicate technical solutions to nontechnical audiences build strong client relationships and collaborate with diverse teams.

• Adaptability and Learning The IT landscape is constantly evolving so consultants should be eager to learn new technologies and adapt to changing client needs.

• CustomerCentricity Understanding and addressing client needs is crucial and consultants need to be able to tailor solutions to meet specific business goals.

• Business and Technical Acumen A successful consultant can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions.

• Demonstrated experience leading technology implementations/transformations specifically with largescale technology transformation programs (i.e. strategy through execution) with an emphasis in operations.

• Demonstrating IT strategy skills by being able to develop and document business visions technology strategies and project roadmaps.

• Experience leading teams of at least (10) consultants/IT Practitioners.

• Experience supporting emergency management security sector customers.
