This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn a singleconfiguration heavylift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to lowEarth orbit geostationary transfer orbit cislunar and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be humancapable.We are a diverse team of collaborators doers and problem solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists technicians engineers on the New Glenn HardwareintheLoop (HIL) software team you will share in the teams impact on all aspects of design develop and testing of software used to fly rockets on mission operations without ever leaving the launchpad! You will frequently engage with other development teams from Avionics Flight Operations Ground Integration BE4 and BE3 Engines and many more. Every day you will innovate to build the frameworks and tools needed to integrate various spaceflight systems with model simulations. Your expertise will directly contribute to building the automated platforms hybrid cloud infrastructure and tooling we need to launch New Glenn to Space!
For this specific role your daytoday activities will be split working on building next generation AI models and tools to advance New Glenns Autonomy and working within the hardware in the loop lab to facilitate the integration of the HILs ground avionics hardware and software systems. As a member on the software team you will have input into the architecture and designs implement and test required features and help verify all requirements have been met.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Training LLMs neural nets or other ML models
- Support AI development of your peers
- Develop software solutions for New Glenns HardwareintheLoop lab.
- Support integrations of the latest New Glenn ground systems and vehicle avionics
- Support milestones for payload tests static fire tests and launch prep
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in engineering
- 2 years of experience with AI development including Neural Nets LLMs cv optimizers etc.
- Familiarity with Prompt Engineering
- Familiarity with Linux and other Unixstyle operating systems
- Experience with higherlevel programming languages such as Python C/C
- Experience coding against Restful APIs
- Strong software development skills and debugging
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
- Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience training LLMs Neural Nets ML models
- Experience assembling Agentic Workflows
- Knowledge of Automation Frameworks
- Knowledge of DevOps Systems
- Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $121323.00$169852.20Other site ranges may differ
