This position is a firstline professional manager in a complex technical and professional staff work area. This position is responsible for managing activities within the Provider Enrollment Unit including strategic planning and organizational management and providing direction to the unit staff responsible for enrolling and maintaining all Medicaid Providers into the Medicaid Program. This position must research medical service providers and understand the complex state and federal regulations. As Federal Regulations become more complicated in enrollments for professionals as well as nonprofessionals and for the Managed Care Mega Rule and the 21st Century Cures Act it has made it necessary for the Provider Enrollment Unit to enroll more types of providers making this a more complex area to manage. It is essential for any provider with personal contact with a Medicaid beneficiary to be enrolled in Michigan Medicaid for federal screening purposes.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.

Experience
Four years of professional experience including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Additional Requirements and Information

The physical location of this position is 400 S Pine Lansing MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.


Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense including:

o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
o A highspeed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
o Suitable lighting furniture and utilities.

As a Condition of Employment:this position requires successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check.
