Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of the 99 students in 1964 CCC now serves more than 2000 students annually.


In addition to a 57acre main campus CCC has a 60acre farm used as a handson laboratory and training facility. The college also accommodates hundreds of offcampus students through facetoface online and hybrid courses.


A number of studies conclude CCC is a solid educational investment. Colby has a strong history of student performance including the highest graduation and retention rates among all Kansas community colleges.

Job Description

Colby Community College is accepting applications for a parttime Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) instructor and a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) instructor to teach a class in the following CCC service areas: Colby Hoxie Norton Oakley Oberlin and Phillipsburg.


COMPENSATION


$650 per credit hour. $3250 for a 5credit hour CNA class of up to 10 students; $2600 for a 4credit CMA class size of up to 6 students.

Qualifications

  • Current Kansas RN license required with no pending or current disciplinary actions.
  • A minimum of two years of fulltime licensed experience is required.
  • One year of experience (RN or LPN) in a longterm care setting required in an adult care home or a longterm care unit of a hospital or completed seven (7) hours of professional continuing education on personcentered care in a licensed adult care home or long term care unit of a hospital not more than one year before becoming an instructor of the nurse aide training course and each year while serving as an instructor.
  • Supervising nurse aides have completed a course in adult education or professional continuing education offering supervision or adult education or have experience teaching adults.
  • Regulations specify that the course supervisor and instructor have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
