Job Summary:
The Dept. of Athletics Fitness and Recreation at Skidmore College invites applications for a parttime Administrative Assistant in the Colleges Riding Program. Schedule varies depending on the time of year. When school is in session the schedule is 28 hours per week (11:30 5:00 Monday through Friday) plus overtime on 6 designated weekends for competitions (Saturday OR Sunday 6:00 AM late afternoon/early evening). When school is not in session the schedule is 20 hours per week 4 hours per day Monday through Friday times TBD. Anticipated start date is July 1 2025.
This position supports the Riding Program Director and Head Coach by serving many diverse functionsall essential to the organization of a busy equine operationincluding but not limited to the following:
Requirements: This position is responsible for purchasing and reconciling all expenditures and revenues through the Oracle system. Knowledge of Colleges budget process including General Ledger PASS accounts and Accounts Payable is necessary in addition to advance Excel knowledge. Knowledge of fundamental budget and accounting principles is required.
This position should be proficient in or ready to learn publisher adobe acrobat and Microsoft Word. Excellent computer skills are essential. This position answers phones and emails maintains all office files and supplies processes class evaluations and processes horse donations with Advancement.
This position requires frequent interaction and coordination with many different people including the Director of Riding the Head Coach of the Riding Team staff employees union employees prospective students community participants facilities staff print services admissions and outside vendors. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills strong online purchasing skills time management and organization skills attention to detail patience and a good attitude.
Valid drivers license required.
Education:High school education with 2 3 years of experience.
Pay Range: $18 20 per hour
