Job Description
Position : Financial Controller
Work Hours (Client) : 9AM 5PM EST
Pay Range : $1500 $3500 USD/month (varies based on skill set and experience level)
Location of Search : South Africa or Any Region
Work Location : REMOTE

Founded and headquartered in New York City They have 400 tutors have taught over 30000 students to date and partnered with more than 600 schools.
Today the company offers a range of programs all based on the unifying principle that children can learn anything through fun wellcrafted stories. In Singapore these include chess for ages three and up playgroups for infants as young as six months old and roleplaying games for children of schoolgoing age.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a detailoriented highly accountable Financial Controller to take ownership of our daytoday financial operations reporting and controls. You ll work closely with the CEO to deliver accurate timely and insightful financial information to support decisionmaking and investor communications.
This role is ideal for a handson finance professional with deep experience in franchising licensing and SaaSstyle revenue recognition. You must be proficient with QuickBooks expense management platforms (ideally Ramp) and understand how to allocate revenue and costs across multiperiod engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple QuickBooks instances
- Maintain and streamline accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger functions
- Perform accurate accrualbased accounting
- Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Consolidate financial data across all business units: Franchising Licensing and Tutoring
- Track and report payroll costs to the appropriate departments
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards to track performance of each revenue stream
- Manage and optimize Ramp (or equivalent) for expense tracking and vendor payments
- Conduct basic financial modeling to support strategic planning
- Oversee cash flow tracking and reporting
- Collaborate with the external tax accountant to ensure compliance and tax filings
- Handle revenue recognition for licensing and services spread across the fiscal year
- Allocate franchise royalty income and associated costs appropriately across reporting periods
Minimum Requirements:
Language requirement: Excellent English Communication Skills
Experience: 5 years of related experience
- 5 years of experience in bookkeeping financial control or accounting
- Proven experience in franchising licensing and/or SaaS financial models is required
- Strong command of QuickBooks (multientity experience a plus) is required
- Experience with expense management tools like Ramp
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP principles
- Excellent organizational reporting and analytical skills
- Comfortable working across email and Slack with availability during 9 AM 5 PM EST
- Experience preparing investorgrade financial reports
