PositionHours: Primarily 6a 2:30p; however this position must ensure that quality control and assurancefunctions are maintained 24/7 potentially requiring oncall availability orcoverage through shift work.
PositionWage: Salaryranges from $70000 $100000.
Salariesare based on a number of factors including the skills and experience of thecandidate. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end ofa salary range and while it is possible to be hired at thehigher end it often requires unique circumstances such as proven expertise.

JobDescription:
Summary: Thequality control manager is responsible for providing the business unit withsupport to manage periodic testing nonconformance and concern managementperform management of change and retraining activities communicate processcreation and revisions at shift changes assist in correctiveaction/preventative action administration assist in auditing the businessunit create business unit specific weekly metric slides and overall supportappropriate documentation. The quality control manager makes quality a visiblepart of productions daytoday activities and ensures or verifies that therequirements of ThermTechs quality management system are being met. There willbe many opportunities for crosstraining in quality and production duties wherethe knowledge will support this position and the option to assist in coverageof those duties where appropriate.
JobDuties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Nonconformance and concern management- Review and update nonconformances and concerns daily
- Propose systemic corrections to repeat issues
- Manage customer communication of nonconforming product
- Work directly with unit leadership to assist in nonconformance and concern resolution
- Referee test suspect product
- Compile and present unit quality control metrics
- Facilitate communication between departments
- Work with quality and production department members to ensure effective communication that facilitates continual improvement.
Management of change- Provide management of change presentations to shift changes
- Administer management of change for quality system revisions
- Ensure appropriate documentation of Management of Change Activities
Employee Training- Assist with development of training materials to support quality outcomes
- Assist with training of new employees regarding quality practices
- Provide retraining to business unit production personnel regarding quality practices
- Learn tasks/skills specific to the business unit to be able to assist in training and continual improvement for those specific tasks/skills.
Process Development- Assist with writing and launching new processes.
- Take feedback and propose changes to process development for new and existing processes
- Present new or significantly revised processes at shift changes
- Be able to write implement and revise work instructions.
Equipment Quality Support- Provide basic trouble shooting for hardness testers
- Provide additional support for quality assurance as required and time permits
- Participation in Weekly Maintenance Meeting
Assist with management and actualization of periodic testing programsAssist with auditing of business unit functions
Minimum Requirements: All hiresare contingent upon a 9panel hair follicle drug test &background check.- Must be willing to work in nonclimate controlled settings
- Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25 pound objects through out shift
Education: High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrefer Four year degree in one of the following or similar fields:- Metallurgical Engineering
- Materials Engineering
- Quality Engineering
- Process Engineering
Experience: 3 years experience in a quality role desired. Prefer experience with the following- Heat treating
- Hardness testing
- Quality system management
- Quality control management
- Continual Improvement
- PPAP creation
HardSkills:
- Microsoft 365 proficiency
- Minitab or other statistics software experience Preferred
- Bluestreak software proficiency Preferred
- Basic computer & mobile phone skills
- Six sigma certification Preferred
- Basic math knowledge
- English reading and writing proficiency
- Bilingual Spanish speaking reading and writing skills desired
