Job Description
Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Toxicology General Supervisor to join the laboratory team at a busy pain management clinic located in Laredo TX. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead daily operations in a clinical toxicology lab that plays a vital role in supporting patient care through accurate and timely drug testing. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership technical expertise and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily toxicology laboratory operations including specimen processing testing and reporting.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local regulations (e.g. CLIA CAP OSHA).
Provide technical guidance and oversight to laboratory personnel to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Review and approve test results quality control data and proficiency testing.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
Oversee and support staff training competency assessments and continuing education.
Collaborate with the Laboratory Director to implement new procedures technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in internal audits and preparation for regulatory inspections.
Maintain proper documentation of all lab activities in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science Chemistry or a related field required.
Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in highcomplexity testing under CLIA.
Prior supervisory or lead experience in a toxicology or clinical laboratory strongly preferred.
ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of LCMS/MS preferred.
Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
