Job Description

Introduction to the job

As a Team Lead you will effectively lead the 2nd shift Manufacturing Work Centers (Production and Qualification). You will have managerial responsibilities for 15 Technicians. You will ensure safe ontime delivery of highquality product to our customers while leading improvements in process and operational effectivity and efficiency. You will continuously seek out foster and spearhead improvements to all aspects of your operational area. You will engage in adoption and industrialization of new products and new processes through a strong partnership with Production Manufacturing and Quality Engineers. Shift: Front end Nights 6.30pm7am (Sunday night Monday night Tuesday night and alternate Saturday nights)

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining alignment of individual team and area goals to department and Company objectives.
  • Creating employee annual performance goals and coaching and mentoring your team of technicians for daily success.
  • Partnering with employees to create professional development action plans.
  • Developing competencies within the team that focus on technical skills continuous improvement teambuilding and crosstraining.
  • Leading a team of technicians to deliver (Droplet Generation Modules Proto Systems Commissioning) while meeting or exceeding department and product Key Performance Indicators. These include but are not limited to: 5S safety; product first pass yield; ontime delivery; production lead time reduction; labor efficiency and labor hour accuracy; and workforce development and upskilling.
  • Anticipating resource requirements and allocating accordingly in order to meet shift goals.
  • Creating maintaining and monitoring work schedules with clearly defined priorities.
  • Transparently highlighting any product or performance issues and escalating requests for help as needed.
  • Facilitating identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within your area.
  • Partnering with Production Engineering to systematically improve processes for increased efficiency and product quality.
  • Displaying structured systematic problem solving innovative problem resolution and encouraging new ideas and methods that are applied with rigorous experimentation and change control.
  • Leading by example encourage personal motivation in an effort to achieve world class quality and performance.
  • Working effectively with peers across shifts to meet goals and maintain production continuity.
  • Reviewing existing operations (L4 level) in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.
  • Ensuring positive material flow in order to avoid stockouts and escalates in the event of any material issues.
  • Communicating effectively to gain buyin from technicians and influence department leaders.
  • Administrative duties including time and attendance recordkeeping and performance/merit reviews.
  • Administering and enforcing company policies and procedures in a direct and consistent manner.
  • Working with Human Resources on disciplinary issues and hiring decisions.
  • Acting as an interface with Finance and Logistics Department for inventory audits or physical inventory counts.
  • Overseeing cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
  • Supporting engineering change order implementations with support from Engineering Staff.
  • Managing predetermined budget amount for area of responsibility and implementing predetermined plans for tactical execution.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Requires AA Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelors degree desired (in a science or engineering field preferred) OR at least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Strong LEAN manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience you can demonstrate a history of operational improvement through effective collaboration with your employees and across your partner organizations.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Outlook 365 applications with knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system.
  • Familiar with ISO9001 and ISO14001. Direct working experience in an ISO certified environment desirable.

  • The employee is required to work in a cleanroom environment (Class 1000): full gowning (full body coveralls hood CR safety shoes face mask nitrile gloves and safety glasses. Working under ISO 9000/14000 standards).
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard finger handle and feel; stoop kneel crouch twist reach and stretch.
  • May spend numerous hours on a computer.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data information and documents.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule twelvehour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
  • Operating/working around overhead cranes fork trucks and motorized pallet movers.
  • Working around lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts toxic or caustic chemicals risk of electrical shock risk of radiation and vibration.
  • Can work in an environment that includes potential exposure to high voltage harmful ultraviolet laser radiation toxic gas and high noise levels.
  • The employee is occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • May require travel dependent on company needs.

Pay scales are determined by role level location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to jobrelated skills relevant education and experience certifications abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
