ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

WhoWeAre

TheRancho CucamongaCommunity Services Departments mission is to engage the community by providing opportunities to play celebrategrowand be entertained through premier programs outstanding services andapositive environment creating lifelongmemories. The departmentoperatesthe Epicenter Sports Complex RC Family Resource Center RC Sports Center Victoria Gardens Cultural Center Goldy S. Lewis Community Center and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to the abovelisted facilities more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use park shelters and event rentals hiking trails athletic fields and cityplannedspecial events.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC

This Supervisor positionoperatesin the Special Event Division andisresponsible forcurating implementingoverseeing andevaluatingspecial events.Using acreative.curious and inclusive mindset this position will focus on engaging new and existinglargescalespecial eventsand programs such asfestivals concert series and ceremonies.

Youllberesponsiblefor:

  • Developing and administering programming/event budgets and preparingposteventand financial summary evaluations;monitoringassigned revenue areas for performance.

  • Evaluatingcurrentspecial eventsto ensure the department is achieving the desired outcome in terms of community engagement and cost/benefit in useof City funds.

  • Establishing andmaintainingrelationships with event supporters toprocureevent sponsorship funds from various businesses;coordinatingsponsorship opportunities and manages deliverables on executed sponsorship agreement(s) for each event(s).

  • Managing event contracts permits as needed and facility oversight related to eventsand calendaring.

  • Strategic planning for future execution ofspecial events; staying up to date on current trends community needsand available resources to provide innovative and impactful activities for the community.

  • Developing a sustainable costrecovery model to support subsidized programs and services;conductingresearch to develop programming andspecial eventsand collects data to measure effectiveness and impact ofspecial events.

  • Employing strong leadership skills tobenefitTeam RCand the community.

  • Cooperating withCommunity Affairsteam toestablishand implementevent marketing plans.

  • Acting as a liaison to large events/programs that the city has partnered with through a binding contract.

  • Overseeing and evaluating artist/talent and programming for events.

  • Provides assignments coordination of schedulesandassistanceto assigned recreationspecial eventsdivision and volunteer staff.

Must have the ability to work weekends evenings and holidays.
