Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Westminster to assist with the appointment of a SEN High Needs Officer on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 197.45 266.53 per day

Summary:

Westminster City Council is committed to building a Fairer Westminster where all children and young people grow up in a safe inclusive and thriving environment. As part of our dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Service the SEND High Needs Officer plays a critical role in supporting the effective and sustainable delivery of services for children and young people with SEND across Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

This hybrid role combines financial oversight data management and administrative responsibilities making it ideal for someone with strong organizational and analytical skills who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and update high needs topup funding allocations using the EBT funding matrix.
  • Maintain and manage pupil funding databases and associated finance systems.
  • Create reconcile and process purchase orders and supplier agreements.
  • Coordinate personal budget payments and oversee the invoice approval process.
  • Lead and conduct termly audits and financial reviews for schools and independent providers.

Requirements:

  • Experience in finance administration education finance or public sector financial oversight.
  • Proven ability to coordinate payment schedules and reconcile data with pupil caseloads.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with a keen attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of data analysis and reporting to inform service delivery.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Excel and finance or case management systems.
  • English and Maths qualifications (GCSE or equivalent) or equivalent experience in administrative roles.
